6th Grade Math (Period 3)
Course Description
Welcome to 6th grade pre-algebra! This class will cover the Foundations of Algebra, Year 1. In 6th grade students will experience math in a variety of ways and learn to apply concepts to real life situations. In addition, our class will explore math related careers and famous mathematicians. The curriculum that we will be exploring is Core Connections, College Preparatory Mathematics, or CPM, and Harcourt Math.
It is imperative that students complete ALL of their assignments in order to develop their individual skills. Students will be expected to work in small groups and partnerships. In order for students to be successful learners there will be a strong emphasis on community and team building skills.
