Hello! My name is Ms. Meredith, and I have been teaching at KLA since 2019. I teach first grade Montessori, so if you're new to KLA, our classroom might look a little different from a traditional classroom at first glance. Once you see it in action, though, I think you'll love it. Our Montessori approach encourages independence, hands-on discovery, and a genuine love of learning, and I feel so lucky to get to guide your children through it this year. I'm truly excited to welcome all my new friends and their families, and I can't wait to get to know each of you.

A little about me: my husband Russell and I have two wonderful sons, Layne and Dawson, who keep us on our toes and never let a day feel boring! Outside of the classroom, you'll usually find me in the garden or out trying new local parks and restaurants with my family. We love a good adventure, big or small.

On the academic side, I graduated from SDSU with a degree in mathematics, later earned my teaching credential through CalState LA, and went on to complete my Montessori lower elementary certificate through the North American Montessori Center. Teaching has been such a meaningful path for me, and I'm passionate about helping each student grow, not just academically, but in confidence, curiosity, and their own joy of learning.

I'm so looking forward to a wonderful year together!

¡Hola! Mi nombre es la Sra. Meredith, y he estado enseñando en KLA desde 2019. Enseño primer grado Montessori, así que si eres nuevo en KLA, es posible que nuestro salón de clases se vea un poco diferente a un salón de clases tradicional a primera vista. Sin embargo, una vez que lo veas en acción, creo que te encantará. Nuestro enfoque Montessori fomenta la independencia, el descubrimiento práctico y un amor genuino por el aprendizaje, y me siento muy afortunada de poder guiar a sus hijos a lo largo de este año. Estoy verdaderamente emocionada de dar la bienvenida a todos mis nuevos amigos y sus familias, y no puedo esperar a conocer a cada uno de ustedes.

Un poco sobre mí: mi esposo Russell y yo tenemos dos hijos maravillosos, Layne y Dawson, ¡quienes nos mantienen siempre alerta y hacen que ningún día sea aburrido! Fuera del salón de clases, usualmente me encontrarán en el jardín o probando nuevos parques y restaurantes locales con mi familia. Nos encanta una buena aventura, grande o pequeña.

En cuanto a lo académico, me gradué de SDSU con un título en matemáticas, más tarde obtuve mi credencial de enseñanza a través de CalState LA, y luego completé mi certificado Montessori de educación primaria a través del North American Montessori Center. La enseñanza ha sido un camino muy significativo para mí, y me apasiona ayudar a cada estudiante a crecer, no solo académicamente, sino también en confianza, curiosidad y su propia alegría de aprender.
