Welcome!

I am excited to be your child’s 5th grade math teacher this year! We have a wonderful year ahead, where we will focus on learning, growth, and building a positive classroom community. In addition to academics, we will work on social-emotional learning, helping our students grow into confident and responsible KLA leaders.

A little about me: My name is Andres Garfio, and I’m from Ventura, California. I moved to San Diego three years ago with my wife, Andrea, and our dog Selina. This will be my sixth year teaching at KLA! I earned my Bachelor’s in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and my Master’s in Teacher Leadership from California Lutheran University.

I am looking forward to a fantastic year with your child and can’t wait to get to know both of you!
