Writing Prompt
You are leading a group of students on an overnight camping trip to the mountains. It is November and the weather can be unpredictable. Since the mountains are only an hour away, and you are only staying one night, many of the students don’t think it’s important to tell anyone or bring extra gear.
Since you are a survival expert, it’s your job to persuade these students that being prepared is of the utmost importance. Write a letter to these students explaining the importance of being prepared for any situation. Use and quote evidence from the three survival texts that you have read recently. Remember, their survival may depend on this letter. Use proper grammar, capitalization and punctuation. Your letter must include all the parts of an argumentative/persuasive letter.
