Summarize Hanging Gardens using the IVF strategy.

Early Man Narrative

Early Man Narrative Instructions:

Use your graphic organizer to write your 6 paragraph Early Man Narrative. Use 1st person point of view.(I, me, my, we, us)

Write the story from the point of view of your character on your character card.

Paragraph 1: Introduce the setting, characters, and problem. Write about the background of your character. Use all 5 senses in your descriptions. Use dialogue. You can start out your story with describing the setting or another hook(check wall chart)

Paragraph 2-5: Use the middle of the graphic organizer to describe the events and details that lead up to the problem being solved.

  • Make sure that there is some action or suspense.
  • Use the 5 senses in your writing. Include dialogue in each paragraph.

Theme 1: Daily Life

Context: The daily life of early human beings was nomadic. They travelled around in search of food, water, and shelter.

On page 1-2 in your book:

·                     On the top write "Daily Life".

·                     Write the daily life sentence in context.

·                     Below that write a defintion of "daily life." (Your own words)

·                     On page 2 list 5 examples of what people do in their daily lives.

·                     In the box below draw a picture of something you do in your daily life and below the picture write a caption describing the picture

Theme 2: Government and Leadership

Context: As ancient communities grew into larger villages, people felt the need for laws and leadership to keep order and settle disputes. People created early forms of government so solve this problem.

Theme 4: Geography and Environment

Context: Hunters and gatherers used the resources available from the geography and environment to survive.

Theme 5: Religion and Belief Systems

Context: Early humans probably believed that everything in nature, including rocks, trees and animals had a spirit. This type of religion is called polytheism, or the belief in many gods.

Context: Human language developed as people needed to learn to work together. Early humans used religion as a way to explain nature and things that happen. Art gives us insight into early humans' daily life. All of these are special to humans and are used to create their culture.
