Welcome to Ms. Lubeski's First Grade Class :)

Hi, Families! My name is Mrs. Lubeski and I am thrilled to be your child’s first grade teacher this year! This is my 7th year teaching here at KLA. I cannot wait to begin our year of learning, growing, and exploring together. This year, students make a lot of growth - academically, emotionally, and socially. I look forward to guiding them in this process!

Behavior Expectations: During the next several weeks, we will have many opportunities to practice and learn appropriate behavior in the classroom. I have high expectations for the class so we can learn at our greatest potential! I will reach out to you if I feel it is necessary to discuss any challenges, academic or behavioral, in the classroom.

Communication: We will communicate through Parent Square. Please make sure you have an account. I will send updates, announcements, or send direct messages. Please make sure you are checking daily. You can also email me at [email protected] if that works for you as well.

Academics: There is a big push for reading development in first grade. We will focus on specific reading skills as well as fluency. My hope is we end first grade with fantastic readers! We will also develop our math skills through the Bridges Curriculum as well as the Montessori Method. Science, social studies, and writing will also be a priority in our learning. Please message me any time if you want to know what we are learning, as well as how your child is doing on a specific subject.

Supplies: Please make sure your child comes with headphones (to be stored at school) and a reusable water bottle daily.
